Cylinder Sensors

Linear sensors for in-cylinder use. Regasense® is our trademark of cylinder sensors.

Cylinder sensors for hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders

Cylinder sensors are types of linear position sensors designed for integration inside hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders. Placing the sensor inside the actuating cylinder is a robust solution for obtaining feedback on the linear position. This solution offers excellent protection for the sensor while keeping the number of moving parts to a minimum.

Our cylinder sensors use three different technologies to provide a continuous signal over the entire stroke length. Many of our cylinder sensors can be installed without the need for wire soldering.

Our potentiometric in-cylinder sensors are designed in-house and are suitable for applications where reliable repetition accuracy for absolute positioning is crucial. The PS6500 cylinder sensor is manufactured in-house here in Uppsala, and in large volumes, it’s a cost-effective alternative to the PS6300 cylinder sensor, which has better linearity.

The inductive cylinder sensors have the advantage of being non-contact during movement, which does not create any mechanical wear. This provides an exceptional lifespan in the application, and the inductive technology also has good precision in the output signal.

The magnetostrictive cylinder sensors are the best option when demands are placed on accuracy as well as reliability. Like the inductive ones, these are non-contact, which gives an exceptional lifespan, and in contrast, they have significantly higher precision. Magnetostrictive cylinder sensors are available with either an analog or digital output signal, depending on what is required in the application.

Regasense® is our trademark of cylinder sensors designed by Regal Components. Some Regasense® sensors can be found on our product pages, but many are developed as custom-solutions for various customers. With in-house product development and production, we have the capability to design and manufacture custom-designed sensors and transducers.

Complete the solution with sealed connectors and cables for easy connection.
